A visit to the Millennium Wheel across the river from Parliament. The wheel is 450 feet high, making it the third-tallest point in London.
Adrian and Rex Visit London & Paris
June 2000
Rex and Adrian visited London and Paris in June 2000. We spent a lot of time with the Royal Family, particularly with Queen Elizabeth. Unfortunately, English copyright laws prohibit using any pictures of the Queen here. However, she did help out by taking some of these photos.
The Millennium Wheel
Each gondola is glass all around and holds 25 people.
Of course, Adrian had her own private gondola.
We could even see our flat from the top of the Millennium Wheel, shown below near the river.

It was a bit warm in London, causing several clocks to melt.

Lunch in Adrian’s favorite park—Mount Street Gardens in Mayfair.
The park wasn’t too crowded.
While in London, Adrian auditioned for a lead role in a local production.
The Fosse role didn’t work out, so Adrian turned her attention to a more classical production—Shakespeare.
Our London flat was a bit small, but it did have great telephone service.
Traveling to Paris
We decided to take the Eurostar from London to Paris, and the engineer let Adrian drive!

Rex found some time to carve a small figure from a rock in the park.

A boat ride on the Seine went right by our hotel, shown in the background.
Adrian had her book out trying to identify the two landmarks in the right background. Unfortunately, we were never able to find out what they were, but they sure were pretty.
Our boat ride on the Seine took the long way around via New York Harbor.
Dinner in Paris
Dinner with Magne and Margrit Sveen in the garden at Pré Catelan.
The president of France joined us for a drink.
