Photos From South Shore of Offats Bayou - Taken September 13, 2008

These photos were taken from a home along the south shore of Offat's Bayou
early on the morning of September 13 while Ike was still ravaging Galveston.

The home sits about 16 feet above sea level, but still had a few inches of water inside.

The residents who took these pjotos rode out the storm, and have now safely evacuated.

Note: Offat's Bayou is the body of water which looks like a large lake
and is west of 61st street.

Moody Gardens also sits on the south shore of Offat's.
